Abstract
Studies were conducted on the content of flavonoids ; the presence of flavones (apigenin, and luteolin) and flavonls (isorhamnetin, kaempferol, myricetin, quercetin, and morin) in 12 medicinal plants inhabiting or cultivated in Korea were examined. The highest total content of flavonoids was in the bark of Illicium religiosum (56352.5§·/§¸ dry weight), followed by Erigenon annuus (3883.1§·/§¸), the leaves fo Thuja orientalis (3341.8§·/§¸), the leaves of Pyrus pyrifolia (2428.7§·/§¸), and the leaves of Pueraria thunbergiana (1572.9§·/§¸). Quercetin was a major flavonoid, that was predominantly glycosylated in the plants.
